How does the immigration DNA paternity testing process work in Ghana?
The process works as follows, In order to begin the DNA testing process we recommend that you wait for the U.S. Embassy or USCIS to issue a letter or an email providing your the option to submit a DNA test result as evidence to prove a biological relationship.
Second, contact our office at 973-609-5102 in order to coordinate an appointment.
Third, depending on the location of the parties involved with the DNA testing. Domestic DNA sample collections will be coordinated by our office here in the U.S. and families who reside in Ghana will have the beneficiaries’ DNA sample collections coordinated by the U.S. Embassy in Accra or by someone at the Akai Medical Clinic.
Fourth, Once all party’s samples have been collected they will be shipped back to the laboratory in United States for genetic testing analysis.
The average turnaround time for this entire process for international DNA tests can range anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks sometimes longer. Please note, due to the COVID-19 pandemic DNA sample collection appointments will have longer turnaround times.
If all parties reside in the U.S. the turnaround time for the completion of your result is 2-3 business days.
Finally, once the DNA testing process is complete. You will be contacted by our office and a copy will be mailed out to your home, office, or anywhere you deem private. A copy will also be sent directly from the laboratory to the requesting immigration office (USCIS or U.S. Embassy)

Where in Ghana will my DNA samples be collected?
Once the lab ships your family members DNA sample collection request and DNA kit to the Embassy in Accra. The Embassy will be responsible for coordinating your family’s sample collection appointment. The Akai medical clinic in Accra will be responsible for collecting your family’s DNA samples.
